Marauders boys bowling ends regular season perfect

S-E girls team wins Section III tournament


EARLVILLE – The boys and girls bowling teams of the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders swept up on the lanes Thursday afternoon, defeating Clinton 5-0 games to on both sides of the match.

The boys were led by Nick Fontaine’s 521 series as the Marauders took a convincing victory of the Clinton squad, scoring 1070 more pins than the visiting team.

Fontaine aiding in the early lead for Sherburne-Earlville, bowling 202 to start the day in game one and he followed his performance with a 186.

Wyatt Youngs finished the day with a 506, which included a 222 in game two – the highest single game scored by any bowler in the match.

Trace Kane was the next best bowler for the Marauders, hitting a 499 for the match while Joey Youngs also bowled in the 400’s. Joey rolled a 485 three-game total for the afternoon.

Jaob Jenkins and Gabe O’Dell spilt the three games with Jenkins bowling the first two of the match to finished with a 289. O’Dell bowled the final game of the match and scored a single game best 129 for the day.

Clinton’s Daniel Lloyd scored a 470 for the match to lead his team. He opened the day with a 187 and was the only bowler for the visiting team to roll a 100-plus game in each of the three for the afternoon.
